While shopping at a Walmart in South Carolina, the caller placed three canned drinks in the child seat portion of her shopping cart. As she proceeded down the soda aisle, one of the cans fell from the cart and struck her right toe, causing immediate pain and significant bleeding. A Walmart employee witnessed the incident and helped her locate a manager to complete an incident report. The store employee then paid for her groceries, and she exited the store. Shortly after, the caller went to the emergency room, where x-rays showed a deep internal bruise on the injured toe. She was prescribed pain medication and given a protective boot, which she continues to use. Although she does not have security footage, she has documentation from the hospital and an incident report from Walmart. She confirmed that her insurance paid for the ER visit but is now seeking legal assistance for potential damages related to the store’s liability and ongoing pain.
